Is the business driving your organisation AI initiative, they are doing it the wrong way.

With such a statement, I think it makes sense to answer the question, "Who should drive AI initiative?"

It might be good to understand where AI fits best and why. Using problem and solution space approach of analyse it is a interesting point of view.

How does AI impact the problem space and solution space is an interesting question to ask your self.

What is the business problem?	AI does NOT help with business problem. Business problems exist and certain organisations try to resolve such business problems for potential customers	AI and other technologies can potentially help make solution feasible. At times with out AI solution might not be feasible or too expensive to solve
Feasibility	Problem or opportunity identification is in problem space. Feasibility to solve the problem is NOT	Solution for the problem and feasibility of a solution is with in solution space. AI could be a potential technology that make the solution feasible
Cost	Decision to fund the resolution to the problem is business decision.	Calculating the cost of solution using AI or other technologies is in solution space
New products	For an existing business problem, AI can make new products feasible	Product being feasible or not lies in solution space. And often solution space delivers the solution using multiple technologies, one of them being AI

AI does not change the problem space

AI has significantly altered the solution space

AI has made certain solution feasible Where creating such solution was not feasible before AI era

AI has made many solutions cheaper to implement Before AI era certain solutions were very expensive to implement

AI has made many solutions faster for customers It was far slower for customers before AI era
